We can come to your business and give you an obligation free appraisal of your centre with regards to your electrical safety compliance and electrical maintenance status.  If you do not have a maintenance plan in place for your centre, and are getting your maintenance done on a breakdown basis, committing to a planned maintenance program will save you money.

We understand that in the area of childcare that good reputation and commitment to safety is of paramount importance to the running of your business.  We can assist you to ensure you meet the indicators of “high quality care” (under QIAS guidelines) by providing you with verifiable external checks.

The package we offer ensures that you will comply with the Electrical Safety Act, the Workplace Health and Safety Act (with regards to electrical safety), the relevant building and fire safety codes (insofar as they refer to exit/emergency lighting, energy efficient lighting, and maintenance of smoke detectors).  We will also give you advice to ensure you are compliant with AS3000 (wiring rules) AS3760 (in service safety inspection and testing), and principles 5.4 and 5.5 of the QIAS Quality Practices Guide concerning building maintenance and OH&S requirements.

We can also conduct short training programs with your staff to make them aware of some of the things that they can do to ensure that maintenance issues can be identified early, and can be fixed or managed before they become hazards.

If you enter into a service agreement with us, we will pay regular visits to your childcare centre and provide the following services:

• Check exit lighting
• Check operation of smoke detectors and change back-up batteries
• Check the operation of safety switches
• Test and Tag your electrical appliances
• Re-lamp your light fittings where required
• Check all power-points and light switches
• Training for your staff on general maintenance principles
• Check the general maintenance condition of plant and equipment
• Compile a  report with any necessary corrective actions
• Give a written quote for any work required

If a regular service contract arrangement is not in your budget, we can conduct work for you on an as needed basis to your specific priorities.  Or alternatively we can conduct a pre-accreditation audit to help you identify any deficiencies in your maintenance, and outline what we can do to close the gap quickly.

When unplanned challenges arise, we can also be there with our breakdown response service.
